I did this illustration for a pharmaceutical company or medical magazine. I never received proofs, and thus forget who the client was. I certainly love this piece of art. I used myself as the insomnia-stricken victim. I remember that the client had one correction: to add a pupil to the eye of the head at the rear. Because I was in Millbrook, NY, ninety miles north of New York City where the art was, my agent drew in the telltale eyeball. He did a good job. The art here, though, was photographed before this momentous change.
Many illustrators resist client-requested changes to their work. I feel more detachment though; this is work for hire and I aimed to please.
